Miromaa Language Documentation Project

VACL has just begun a large documentation project to enter all language material from Victorian languages that are recorded in all historical sources into the Miromaa Language Database for communities to develop their languages and resources for teaching language.

The 12 month Project which has been funded by the Victorian Department of Education and Eary Childhood Development (DEECD) will see every Victorian Aboriginal language databased and then given to Traditional Owners Groups for training & language development.

This will reduce the time spent by communities in the collation of historical materials and assist in language revival in Victorian communities.
