One of a four volume set of dictionaries of Victorian Aboriginal placenames covering Melbourne and Central Victoria, Gippsland and Northeast Victoria, Southwest Victoria and Northwest Victoria. These dictionaries are the product of extensive research by historical geographers Ian D. Clark and Toby Heydon. This involved comprehensive collaboration with academic and community based researchers, historians and linguists. 

Language groups: Djab Wurrung, Jardwadjali, Wergaia, Yuyu, Jari Jari, Ladji Ladji, and the Victorian parts of Dadi Dadi, Wadi Wadi, Wemba Wemba and Baraba Baraba.

Geographic Region: The western edge of Victoria from the Murray down to Casterton and Mortlake, up to Lake Buloke, over to Boort and east of the Loddon River down towards Bendigo, and back up to the Murray just west of Echuca.
